This triangle jesmonite brooch is made using shades of pink and stone. It’s finished with a silver-plated pin. Truly a statement piece.
It’s 5.2cm long by 2.6cm wide, with a depth of 0.8cm.
No 2 pieces are ever the same, so while you may not receive the item in the photo, it will be the same colour palette.
Jesmonite was invented by Peter Hawkins, in the early 1980s. Originally a joiner, he went on to become a concrete technologist, experimenting in new technology.
It is a low hazard material. The finished composite will emit no toxic fumes. The mixing process requires no harmful solvents.
It is a material that is frequently used in construction; a relation of concrete, it is water-based, heat-resistant and VOC FREE. It is very lightweight, yet resilient, and has a smooth surface finish that is extremely tactile.
Each piece is handmade to order in my studio in Dundee, with hand-blended colours and unique additions, such as neon dyes and silver leaf. No piece is ever the same, so you can be sure you have something unique and special.
Every item is sanded by hand and sealed with a water-based, eco-friendly sealant for longevity. To clean, use a slightly damp cloth with warm soapy water and allow to air dry. Alternatively, rub with coconut oil.
